This is Why We Are Vegan (GRAPHIC IMAGES)

DISCLAIMER: This post contains graphic images, please know that this is the harsh reality.

So, what really goes into that burger that you’re eating? Or that splash of milk in your coffee? Simply, suffering and cruelty.

Let’s talk about meat first. As you may know, there is really no humane way to kill something because well…you’re killing it. But, many commercial slaughterhouses use the most inhumane ways possible.

Think I took hours to find those horrific pictures? Think again. I simply googled “slaughterhouses”. Not even “cruel slaughter houses”. Don’t believe me? Do it yourself.

Im not here to sugarcoat thing for you. In this post, I’m being brutally honest. I want you to see the truth behind the food on your plate. We become desensitized to the fact that we are consuming something that was once alive. In the grocery store, meat is packaged so nicely we forget what went into producing your meal. We are taught to do that to keep the meat and dairy industry alive.

Kate Powell was kind enough to allow me to use a video she took while stopping a truck full of animals heading towards the slaughterhouse. PLEASE click this link to view it.

What is most shocking to me is the dairy industry. For the longest time, it never occurred to me how cows are treated to fulfill our absurd need for another animal’s milk. We are taught as children that cows produce milk for our own consumption. But truly think about that.

If we drank dog’s milk-it would be crazy! If a cow drank human breast milk, it would be a international crisis! But humans drink ridiculous amounts of cows milk everyday and most people don’t even think twice about it.

Commercial dairy cows are NOT treated humanely at all. Don’t trust me? See for yourself.

Just like humams, cows are mammals. After carrying a child for 9 months, they begin to lactate to feed their kids! But now, humans have ruined that process. Today, cows are producing 12 times that amount of milk necessary for feeding their young. Within the first 12 hours of giving birth, 97% of calves are forcefully removed from their mothers in order to keep more milk for us greedy humans. Of these calves, the male calves are killed for veal and the female calves are imprisoned to produce more milk. All of these female cows are forcibly impregnated in order to produce the most amount of milk for human consumption. Of the 3% that are allowed to stay with their mothers, they are equipped with this to prevent them from drinking their mothers milk to save it all for us humans. (Source)

Still think drinking milk is “natural?” Think again.

If you were able to last this long through all of the horrific photos, I ask you please. Go Vegan. Save the animals.

I would like to leave you with a few happy pictures so you know who you can save if you chose to go vegan.

Please think next time you go to the grocery store.
